01 / THE GUIDELINES
This guide explains how we work with Code38 stockists and resellers. Please read all 16 sections before applying.
Code38 Reseller Guidelines · Version 1.2 · 18 October 2026Select each section to read the full guidelines.
We work with retailers who have a physical storefront where customers can view Code38 products, and with organisations or individuals with private online or offline memberships. Resellers must carry stock and maintain ongoing stock levels for the Code38 models they offer.
There are a number of key markets for which we have found Code38 well suited: wine service professionals, high-end corporate gifts, wine sales incentive programs and the luxury goods market. Code Wine Knives Pty Ltd will take care to strike a balance between being well represented across these market segments without being over-represented in any one.
Code38 stockist arrangements are non-exclusive. Stockist approval does not grant an exclusive territory or market segment.
We prefer stockists to carry the full Code38 range where practical. We recommend one demonstration unit of each model stocked, together with stock for resale. We also recommend holding at least two sale units of each model stocked.
Carrying the full range, these demonstration quantities and these sale-stock quantities are recommendations, rather than mandatory requirements.
These recommendations do not remove the requirement to carry stock and maintain ongoing stock levels for the Code38 models a reseller offers.
We prefer wholesale orders of ten or more Code38 units, which may be a mixture of models. Ten units is a preferred order size, rather than a mandatory minimum.
Orders may be placed directly on the code38.com website, where the full product range, including spare parts and accessories, is available. A login username and password is required to access wholesale pricing. Orders may also be emailed directly, upon which an invoice will be issued. Full payment is required at the time of order.
Allow 1-2 weeks for the production and shipping of orders.
Code38 may publish recommended retail prices (RRPs). These are recommendations only; resellers are under no obligation to follow them and independently determine their advertised and selling prices, discounts and promotions. Code38 approval is not required for a reseller's pricing decisions.
Resellers must meet Code38's reasonable, consistently applied requirements for accurate product information, authorised brand assets, product presentation and customer service. Any required marketing approval relates to those matters and does not restrict advertised or selling prices. Code38 will not withhold supply, withdraw benefits, refuse marketing approval, restrict sales channels, terminate a reseller arrangement or otherwise disadvantage a reseller because it sells or advertises below RRP.
Our products are produced in rural Australia and therefore are limited to using EMS for all international shipments.
Each Code38 comes packaged in a presentation/gift box with the addition of a heavy-duty outer shipper box. Shipping labels may be adhered directly onto the outer shipper for your convenience.
Engraving and corporate branding are available and can work very well on the Code38 product. We are happy to work with companies sharing similar values and where there is a natural synergy. Each branding project needs to be individually assessed and approved before any agreement to co-brand. Personalisation can take the form of adding a person's name, a short message or even a signature, and is usually located on the top area.
A large proportion of Code38 orders include personalised engraving. We encourage resellers to consider offering this service, either in-house or through a suitable local engraving provider. Resellers who don’t currently have access to engraving should consider establishing this capability as part of their Code38 offering.
Resellers may nominate potential Code38 ambassadors for our consideration. Code38 manages all approved ambassador relationships and covers the associated costs. We retain final approval and ongoing management of these relationships.
Resellers have no authority to appoint ambassadors or commit Code38 to gifts, funding or other obligations. Each nomination and any proposed support require our written approval before commitments are made.
Ambassador onboarding is separate from stockist onboarding. An approved nominee must complete the separate ambassador guidelines acknowledgment before the ambassador role is activated.
See Code38 style guidelines for logo use and advertising guidelines. All print and online advertising and promotions need to be approved by Code Wine Knives before publishing. This approval concerns brand presentation and content, subject to section 7; resellers independently determine their advertised and selling prices.

Any marketing or promotional activities carried out through any medium must always support the Code38 brand and have a positive sentiment. Code38 products may be promoted through a reseller's website, email newsletter and social media channels such as Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. Marketing via mass online shopping channels, including but not limited to eBay, Amazon, Alibaba and Taobao, is not permitted.
Resellers may be featured and promoted on the Code38 website on the stockists page.
Code38 professional wine knives carry a manufacturer's international warranty covering defects in materials or workmanship for the lifetime of the product.
The manufacturer's warranty does not cover normal wear and tear, including normal wear of consumable parts such as the helix and foil blade, or damage caused by alteration or unreasonable use. A defect in materials or workmanship is not treated as normal wear simply because it affects a consumable part. Service kits and replacement parts are available.
Before making a voluntary commitment on Code38's behalf to a refund, replacement, repair, credit or reimbursement, contact us and obtain written approval of the remedy and any costs Code38 will cover. To help us assess a claim, please provide the order reference, a description of the issue and photographs where useful. This approval process does not limit, delay or make conditional on prior approval any non-excludable rights or obligations of Code38, a reseller or a customer, including any statutory right of a reseller to reimbursement by Code38.
For a confirmed defect covered by the manufacturer's warranty, Code38 will cover reasonable return freight agreed in writing before shipment. Contact us before sending a product so that return arrangements and costs can be agreed. Prior agreement is not required where Code38 is legally obliged to reimburse reasonable return costs. For normal wear or other non-warranty work, we will provide a quote for the parts, work and freight for approval before proceeding. Any charges remain subject to rights and remedies available under applicable law.
Any goodwill replacement or contribution for normal wear is considered case by case and confirmed in writing.
The manufacturer's warranty is additional to rights and remedies available under applicable law. Nothing in these guidelines excludes or limits rights, remedies or obligations that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
Code38 may make reasonable updates to these guidelines, wholesale prices and product specifications for future orders to reflect changes in costs, products, operations or legal requirements. Code38 will give written notice of material changes at least 30 days before they take effect, including the change, effective date and reason. A longer transition period will be provided where reasonably needed to implement a material operational change.
Minor administrative corrections that do not adversely affect resellers may take effect immediately. Changes reasonably necessary to comply with law or address a genuine safety risk may take effect sooner, with as much notice as practicable.
Changes will not retrospectively alter accepted orders, accrued rights or existing warranty obligations. Changes affecting an accepted order require separate agreement or must be handled as required by law, with applicable cancellation and refund rights preserved.
A reseller that does not wish to continue under materially revised guidelines may stop placing future orders without penalty. Accepted orders and accrued rights and obligations remain subject to their existing terms.
02 / APPLY
We’re interested in how you would introduce Code38 to your customers, and how our products fit your offering.
Submitting an application does not provide immediate wholesale access. We personally review your business before the signing step.
The application opens on Code38’s existing registration page. It helps us understand:
Opens the Code38 reseller registration form. You’ll remain on code38.com.
We assess the information you provide and may contact you if we need anything further. Approval is personal, rather than immediate.
If approved, you’ll receive a DocuSign email to acknowledge the Code38 Reseller Guidelines. You can sign from the email link without creating a DocuSign account.
After checking the completed acknowledgment, we activate your wholesale account. Signing alone does not automatically turn on wholesale access.
A SEPARATE PATHWAY
Resellers can nominate potential Code38 ambassadors for our consideration.
Contact the Code38 team to discuss a nomination. We personally review each nominee and manage all approved ambassador relationships, with Code38 covering the associated costs.
Nomination does not appoint an ambassador or authorise gifts or other commitments. Our written approval and separate ambassador acknowledgment are required, as set out in section 11.
